Rev. June Edwards, North Central District Superintendent, announced in worship on Sunday April 23rd, that Rev. Adam Zele, after a period of prayer and discernment, has made the decision to step away from pastoral ministry for a season.   Pastor Adam, in a note to June that was shared with the Staff Parish Relations Committee, spoke of his love for the people of First Church, Mt. Dora and his plan to work on his own spiritual health during this time of leave.  He and Virginia covet your prayers during this season.  Rev. Riley Short will begin as the interim pastor next Sunday, April 30th.  The Bishop and Cabinet have begun the conversation about the appointment of the next Senior Pastor of First UMC,  Mt. Dora and will share further news as it becomes available.  Notes of appreciation and prayers may be sent to the church office and will be forwarded to Rev. Zele.  The ministry team is available to anyone who needs to talk.
